Virtual Reading Sessions

Reading is the cornerstone of all learning. Reading helps develop critical thinking skills, comprehension, and vocabulary which are fundamental to academic success.

Just because children can read the words on a piece of text, does not mean they can fully comprehend what they read. They may be able to answer surface-level questions, but once the child is asked to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate text, he/she may struggle.

Often many students need additional reading practice that the classroom teacher can't provide. That is why my virtual reading sessions can help come alongside his/her teacher to give that extra support.

In the reading sessions, the mission is to improve your student's reading by providing explicit instruction that targets your child's identified academic reading gaps.

Because it is important that your child feels safe to grow as a learner, I build that trust relationship by being patient and attentive to your child's needs.

As your child acquires his/her new skill set, I offer supportive feedback and positive encouragement along his/her reading journey.

What to expect from my 30-minute sessions is that your child will gain the confidence and competence of a strong reader.
