When I was in 4th grade, I faced a pivotal moment in my literacy journey. After moving to a new school, I quickly realized how far behind I was compared to my peers. The absence of a reading group for me was a clear indication of my struggles. I remember feeling embarrassed and inadequate, especially as my teacher tried to help but recognized that I needed more support than she could provide in the classroom.
